You are never alone getting up in the morning/ it always follows you going after each step you make/ whatever you do you won’t escape/ it has no name, it has no face./ Your own shadow always behind you/ you will never get rid of it/ it’s your judge as well as slayer./ The hangman of daylight/ the judge of your consciousness./ You can steal, kill and destroy things/ but your hangman will be unchanged./ It’s a reflection of your soul./ Watching your direction/ you cannot hide, cannot sweep it away/ your shadow is your slayer.
